Cyberpunk 2077 Gameplay was Incredible - The most detailed game ever

 today we're going to talk about Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay I was at Gamescom this week and was invited to watch 50 minutes of live gameplay this wasn't a movie it wasn't fake it was real gameplay and the audience in the room was influencing what choices were made during gameplay, game or audio recording was not allowed, but I can tell you everything I saw in this 50 minute demo of the game and I'll start by saying that I think this is the most detailed video game I've ever seen I've seen anything I've ever seen, and I'm usually not a fan of single-player games. They have to be really special for me to be interested in them, but what I saw in this 15 minute gameplay demo was really something new to me and something new generation, something I haven't really felt in a very long time so I thought the best the way to do it is just go over everything i saw and on the screen i will show you screenshots and snaps from the trailer that the team has ed releases because a lot of the things they showed happened in this gameplay demo so hope this helps you visualize things better so the demo started with a bit of an introduction the game is a first person action rpg they are not saying it's a first person shooter but there is shooter and mechanics in it and they look good smooth gameplay dialogue options everything happens in real time and there are no loading screens in the game everything is smooth which was most impressive so the main character is called V and they live in a city scu called Knight City, which is a fictional city in Northern California of course the game is set in 2077 the game is very mature does not shy away from nudity in the demo there was lava it has a day/night cyclical weather system and the city is divided into six districts currency you have to hoard in the game to buy stuff and do stuff its called euro dollar and the slang term is eddie and like i said its the first person

game while you are on the ground but there were sections in the demo where you were in a vehicle and you could go third person a bit like GTA the game also has damage indicators and if I had to describe it it is a mix of Fallout Deus Ex and Grand Theft Auto, but with so much more on top and we'll get to it so the demo starts customizing you can choose male or female skin color hair color eye color facial features tattoos your past and stats you can choose key life events that have happened to you and will affect you your character and the things you do in your traits in different ways to make your character look cool and adjust the stats to make the room choose male or female we chose male and then boom you fell into the game and this is an intro mission and it is set in a very seedy drug den-style apartment and you have to follow this gang of scavengers who snatch and collect synthetic or robotic implants, whatever they call oo m i can't remember now your goal is to enter this apartment into this drug gang lair and find a specific female droid that has a rare implant so you move around the apartment get into a fight with someone and you just have at this point gun so you know pretty standard shooting people then the main character puffs on an inhaler which will give you a buff or boost to your stats in this case the one he did was in slow motion like a time ball which allowed you to move faster and shoot people in slow motion it looked amazing you could also shoot through walls and enemies shot you through walls - these were combo options like jumping out a window and flanking while an AI companion named Jackie breaks through a wall and knocks down a guy with light machine gun that pinned you down, so there's some options in the game, and you walk into the room, check out some droids that they are not right

and then you find the right droid or synthetic in the bathtub and she was wearing this special type of leather or fabric which meant she was an expensive synthetic and you sort of push yourself into her with this thing you pull out of your neck and confirm that it's her, but then you realize that this synthetic is on the verge of death and her vitals are unstable, so you need to get her out of there as soon as possible. I feel like this synthetic is very important to the story for reasons we don't yet know and it has been noted that it may have a virus and you remove the chip on the back here and then you can choose if you want to wear synthetic or you want your partner to carry synthetic in the demo you pick the carrier then you call the trauma team which is like the most expensive high end medical insurance for rich people they board the ship they blow up the gun they tell you to put the body on the floor they check it take it then leave it there now graphics wise it looked amazing the lighting the shadows the detail in the character models the particle effects it was very impressive and not sure if it was using the new RTX end video cards but at the time there was a thing on the screen Nvidia, so I'm assuming it's because the lighting just looked unreal, and like I said, it was real gameplay. In the next part of the demo you're in an apartment and it turns out you had someone in your room so apparently the raw romance options in the game and you have a quick view of that apartment which shows loads of detail and then there's a gun cabinet that requires a pin code, you go in there and you can select your weapon choices then you go out you go to your closet and you can browse through the clothes you have there why clothes is a jacket and a jacket has stats and buffs so the clothes and gear you wear obviously affects our

the character stats so far which you probably think are ok sounds pretty cool but then it starts to get really impressive so you leave the apartment you walk around something called a mega building and it's a huge building complex that it creates a micro society all by itself there are people doing things they do their laundry boxing robots training in the gym if you see an ad for something you can go up and click on it and it will show you where you can buy that thing so walk around the building a bit and see some things look cool then you get on this big elevator as you go down the elevator you see all the different layers of this huge building and all sorts of things going on then you hit the street open the door and you are now in the world of the city the whole room gasped when we saw it because it looked similar if it looked like it was radiating energy there were AI NPCs everywhere they spent and your days against the traffic rules of the bay, standing on the side of the road and waiting for the lights to turn from red to green, bumping into each other

like a potion or something the developer approached and interacted with and led him to a vending machine where he drank a potion that refilled his health and cured him over time and there are roads there are cars and trucks and vehicles and at the moment they confirmed that cars, bikes and trucks will be running around the vault in the game there are also hovercrafts as I said flying in the sky but they haven't confirmed yet if you'll be in them I think it would be such a shame if you didn't use them but of course pretty cool so you meet jack and he tells you there is a job opportunity so you go downstairs to the car and there meet Dex he looks like one of the many powerful gangsters in the night city and when you get in the car he starts talking to you and i think in most games it would just be a talker where you can choose a few options book it when you get in the car it greets you it's all very realistic then the car starts to drive and as you drive it explains to you what the mission is and you have several options on what to say and how to approach the conversation and doing quests for him for other of these guys can get you street credit which is almost like currency you can use to unlock content in around town and progress in the game and this dude is the seed he needs to get a powerful tech but he needs you to prove yourself so you can be part of his gang then you can either steal the tech or give you the option to find an agent Milotic named Meredith Stout who scavengers stole this deer so you can make them play each other you can go one you can go neutral or you can screw both of them so then the conversation ends you take the job and after getting out of the car you rejoin to Jackie and you tell him about the job so you set up an appointment with that Meredith S. tout we just mentioned and again no charging at all everything is fluid so next thing you do you go to jackie's car cause she has to go to this

meeting meredith but when you noticed a dude is hanging around the vehicle he looks familiar he is part of the gang from the first mission in an apartment with other scavengers and he is there because your actions are you go in there and kill everyone and do it loud caused them to chase you if you did it stealthily and got in and out unnoticed he probably wouldn't be there but he is you get in the car you start driving and they start chasing you in the van and shoot you with a gun so you have to fire jackie takes the lead it kinda feels like rails there was a transition between you know you drive and free and free and then there was a chase but it was smooth and very smooth it wasn't forced at all you shoot these guys in the truck in front of you in the end you hit one of the wheels they skid and crash it's the end of them exploding into a fireball so no distractions outside y you go to meet Meredith you open a dialogue line but they beat you and try to interrogate one of her bodyguards pushes you into a car pulls out a cable and hacks you with a lie detector and they say there is no way you can lie without knowing they ask you a lot of questions about are you alone what are you up to and you have to remember that they will know if you are lying and the guy in the gameplay demo was lying they knew what didn't go very well but they also have this hostage with them and they asked you if you know who the hostage is you say no realizing you're telling the truth then they reopen the negotiation dialogue to get that tech we talked about so you can point a gun at them at any time here or keep talking if you do you can convince Meredith for her to take up an offer to finance the purchase of stolen equipment from a gang which she agrees to because she needs to find a mole in her companion and you agree to help her do it so she gives you a credit chip with 50000 euro dollars so you can go and buy this equipment, whatever it is, we will reveal it later

but by dating this woman you have opened up a peaceful guessing game in the gang room who you need to repurchase the equipment throughout the duration of the demo it's all about choosing how you want to play how you want to do it but before you go to the final mission of the game demo go and see what is called ripper doc this guy here and specializes in upgrades or cyber software as it is known in the game so lift you to this chair and you can choose from a series of implants you want so you use the optical implant and test go which allows you to zoom in on objects as well as scan your surroundings for people and information on threat levels interesting things you can interact with so one you can zoom in with your eyes you can scan but you can also get a hypodermic hand grab that doesn't appear only on your hand or in the menu contains a full scripted animation where you enter the sea and your hand gets blocked upwards and then you see it has actually melted into your hand and then it's there permanently and once you have it whatever gun or gun you're holding now will give you more information on the screen so it will tell you how much ammo you have in it magazine and any births or stats or fire modes and since we went to see this ripper dock now we've basically created our character so here's where the demo really starts to heat up you go back to your car and drive to that gang robot you go there with Jackie it's very tense environment these guys are pretty mean and you find out the tech you are looking for is a spider robot and this is a small robot that can walk up walls and shoot people it looks really nasty and is being held by a gang called the Maelstrom, which is a gang or group obsessed with body modification and their goal is to become machines so they don't really want to be human anymore they want to add so many upgrades and upgrades to their body, which they are basically not human and use a lot of military they stole from this fucking woman to fortify their hideout and give themselves some firepower

so tense very sketchy atmosphere there is some back to back dialogue and they try to get Jackie into a fight then you can either ask him to sit down and de-escalate things or go along with him and have a big fight now the first guy is pretty easy to convince and you show him a chip for 50k and he pulls out a spider demonstrating it then one of the leaders comes out with a gun and tells you you smell like Milotic you could say you worked with them regardless there are several dialogue options which allow you either to ease the situation with one or two kind words or you can instigate violence finally escalate things you bring this guy and then you tell him there is additional information on the chip you have so he asks one of his people to plug it in and check it out, take a look at it, he's convinced, so it's okay, we didn't make deals, you take the spider robot in the suitcase and ask I go out with one of the guys in the room mocks your jacket na e he likes your jacket and at that point he says something rude to you of course the brutal way has been chosen and you and jackie shoot everyone in the room using slow motion ability now it triggers a series of consequences alarm goes off everything is locked what means your escape route will now be littered with enemies coming for you but before leaving the room the developer searches through some loot boxes there and finds cool weapons like the tech shotgun which has several different fire modes, high spread, low spread, but you can also penetrate multiple enemies at once with certain walls and materials so you can shoot through walls quite reliably now at this point the devs who showcased it did some dev magic and buffed these skills and abilities so you could see other combat mechanics in the game, and then you leave that building and showed some stealth and takedown mechanics, that was the one point

in the demo where he walks from behind someone shoves their head into a bowl of water and shoots them in the head underwater it looked absolutely brutal it's like a cloud of red blood that comes up. I think it means contextual takedowns are in play and will interact with the environment around you so with takedowns you can go lethal you can go non-lethal or one of the options the guy did in the demo is this that he made a takedown he was holding and then hacked into him and since he was connected to other bad guys in the area you can then inject a virus into their software like malware to other gang members giving them a chance to jam their guns as they inevitably fight with you and also you can tell their locations from hooking up this guy and hacking him so everything is connected then the madness starts and the fight to Rampur really starts there is war in this game double jump jump dash you have equipped Mantis arms now if you remember the woman from the promo art and the original trailer you can use them so at some point the dude runs up the wall, he rams one of the Praying Mantis' arms into the wall to hang himself there, just like in titanfall, for example, and then one of the gang members has a disgraceful takedown style. It's just unbelievable. Everything looked very smooth. The slow motion really came in handy. you have this new upgrade i, you can scan him and find the weak spot, find the bleeding spots on his back, slow down, slide, go around behind him, shock the weak spot, then he just falls after a few more hits as you move around in this environment the guys do some more looting and he picks up a few more weapons one of them was something called a smart submachine gun which is very similar to the smart gun from titanfall where he locks onto enemies in his peripheral vision and then the bullets hit them very cool but he also found this huge sword that looks like something a cloud could have

Final Fantasy and you can use this as a melee weapon to literally chop people's heads off at one point he slammed in slow motion he did a slide he swung his sword and the dude's legs came off in slow motion so decapitation is in the game of course decapitations in this game why not but one other ability the sword had was to create an electromagnetic field or whatever you want to call it and you could hold it down activate it and it would act as a ball shield that would deflect bullets away from you so there was one pointy demo, where he was crossing the bridge and using this magnetic field, he got a lot of people shooting at him, but he's using it to go over to the other side and just start chopping people's heads off with that sword. reason if any of you ever played that there was also another ability that allowed you to see the trajectory of Ricochet bullets so during this fight on your way out of this building you get pinned down by a ton of these gang members and pulls out a pistol activates this ability and uses the trajectory to shoot at people around the corners so he gives you an idea of ​​where the bullets are going to go, you line it up you bounce the bullet off the metal surface and you just shoot the people around the corners and then he used that shotgun as well, he scanned the surroundings, he shot people through the walls through the columns of the structure, it was just absolute chaos and it looked so great, neon lights in the background, slow motion effects, all these abilities come into play and they just work great and seamlessly on their own so you mean Jackie you take everyone and then to escape, you have many options so it was noted that there was a door you could hack but your skill level was too low or there was a vent, which you could use your engineering skills go in there and once you are outside you will find some corporate agents watching you and complaining about the bodies left behind and V and Jackie go to the car puts a spider robot

front trunk so it's not like it just disappears somewhere in the inventory it actually opens the trunk takes the case puts it on you get in the car and drive then the title screen appears cyberpunk 2077 it's the end of the demo so no i don't know can you tell but i am very excited about this game as i said at the beginning it really looks like one of the most detailed video game worlds i have ever seen smooth no loading the artificial intelligence looked very impressive the combat looks smooth and visceral and satisfying adult game, mature, there's the romance option, this customization, there's blood and gore, decapitation, most importantly the script was fantastic, the voice actors were amazing, nothing was embarrassing, forced, weird or anything less than triple A and absolutely polished. I've been working on this game for over five years and you can really tell why I've now seen the actual gameplay myself and been involved in it and influenced the decisions that were made there, loo something like this promises to be something really special. I can't wait to play this game when it comes out. It just oozes style and polish and really impressed me whatever CD Projekt RED is doing there they should keep doing it because really believe this is going to be a phenomenal game if you like RPGs if you like shooters then later games like neon, futuristic environments, this game will absolutely tick all the boxes.
